Summary: excellent bag and very well made.
This bag isn't a new bag on the market- I know because I've had mine since I purchased my film slr camera, the Nikon N65 over 5 years ago. Fabric is still the same color as mine. I'm not sure how long ago I did purchase it but I've loved it ever since I bought it. Everything is very well made; the fabric, buckles, zippers, stitching, padding, etc. After 5 or 6 years, my bag still looks brand new, other than a few scuffs on the buckes. The fabric shows no wear whatsoever.
There are times I do wish it were bigger but I've been able to get by with it over the years. Cannon I beleive puts the same quality into this bag as their cameras. The other reviews were correct in what they say when they mention it can't hold as much stuff as Cannon advertises. I since bought a sony a200 dslr and was able to fit the camera body with 18-70 lens attached and a 70-300 lens, lots of accesories like battery charger, extra media cards, filters, etc, but thats it. Only small accessories, camera body, and the two lenses. No other room for a flash. (So if you need room for a camera body, two lenses and a flash it will probably be too small) If you only use one lens you could fit the camera body with the one lens, and a flash all into this bag without any problems. A week ago I just upgraded my Sony to the Olmpus E-520 with a 14-42mm lens and 40-150mm lens which all fit into this bag. I have enough room also for extra filters, extra battery, battery charger, cables, etc. The only thing I won't be able to take along in the bag is the flash but that isn't a problem for me at the moment since I haven't purchased one yet. If I do purchase an external flash then I may have to look into getting a bigger bag, depending on the size of the flash since I do have some room left inside the bag at this time- just not a lot. Otherwise I'll have to carry it along seperately which won't be the end of the world. One thing I will say is that if I do end up having to buy a bigger bag it will definitely be another Cannon bag. The padding is thick enough to protect your equipment well and build quality is better than any other bag I've ever seen. It was well worth the $50.00 I paid 5 or 6 years ago and now that you can get this bag for under $35.00 with shipping, its a great deal.

Summary: Perfect case for me
I have a sx20is so dont have alot of extras.fits the camera and bat charger,cords,usb card reader and mini t pod, extra cards just fine. velcro would have been nice instead of zipper but when using i just latch the hook and its just fine and when in trasit i zip it up for extra security. this is heavy duty and am impressed with the quality.the fanny pack option is just a added bonus. would highly recomend for this type of camera.

Summary: Bigger Than It Looks
I bought this (elsewhere for more $) for my Canon T1i and its kit lens. I now have the DSLR w/lens, a Canon G10, a small flash, spare batteries and chargers for each, and memory cards, and there is easily room for another lens.
Don't be swayed to a too-big bag by the naysayers. :)
