This book is not only thorough, it is thoroughly enjoyable. I am calling this THE guide to a vegan lifestyle. First off, it answers the good 'ole WHY anyone should/would go vegan. Then it carefully and in a non-preachy way shows you HOW. And there are many, many solutions, ideas, great recipes, easy-access charts about where to find calcium/protein/B12, lots of fascinating research. Brilliant. Alexandra Jamieson, thank you for making it so easy to make the transition. The people, the planet and the animals thank you.

Summary: "Just what I was looking for..."
I don't like to think that I need a "for dummies.." book but trying to make changes in aspects of your life such as diet & exercise is difficult. There's so much information out there, lots of it contradictory, that it's a struggle to figure out what to try and who to listen to. This book breaks through all this with simple instructions on how to incorporate vegan living into your life. I wanted to learn more about it, get recipes and give it a shot. This book helped start me on my way in an easy to implement formula. It helped me with what to eat, where to buy it and how to cook it. Just what i was looking for !

Alex Jamieson has a long history of nurturing her clients toward more healthy lifestyles, and her new Living Vegan for Dummies is no exception. Her considerable expertise, humor and compassion come through every chapter, making it not only a fabulous primer for going vegan but a top-notch book for getting healthier on many levels.
I'm not even a vegan and I LOVE this book - it's literally FUN to read! The book presents so much information in a lightweight, portable size that I often carry it in my bag and read it while commuting or on my lunch break at work. Perfect for reading right through page by page, or as a reference with the easy-to-follow sections and index, this book offers a wealth of information from the tenets of a vegan lifestyle and yummy recipes, to shopping/cooking tips, eating out and how to make healthier choices in many aspects of your life.
I am so grateful for the wisdom and practical information contained in the book's varied chapters. While I may not be a vegan (at least not quite yet), I am certainly eating better, feeling better, and making more conscious choices thanks to Alex's expert hand and considerable writing skills.

Summary: Simple. Easy. Amazing!
It's always nice when you're trying to make a change in your life, and there is something tangible that can help you... This book has helped me start to change my eating habits, and also helped me to be more aware about what I am putting into my body. Complete with recipes that aren't just easy, but delicious too. And at the end of the day, even if I am not totally there yet, and even if I disagree completely with certain things -- I am really glad I bought this book.
